Upon arrival at Narita International Airport, you will be met by your driver and transferred by private coach to your accommodation in Tokyo. The journey typically takes 60 to 90 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
The remainder of the day is free for you to begin exploring Tokyo at your leisure.
During your time in Tokyo, there are endless ways to experience the city’s incredible mix of high energy modern life and centuries old tradition.
A full day at Tokyo Disneyland 🎢 is always a crowd favourite, packed with rides, parades and plenty of Disney magic. If your group enjoys a bit more adrenaline, Yomiuriland is a great option, especially in winter when the park lights up with spectacular illuminations. For something completely different, step into the mesmerising digital art world of teamLab Planets TOKYO, where interactive installations surround you with light, colour and reflections.
The adventurous can cruise the streets on a guided Tokyo Street Kart, driving past famous landmarks while dressed in fun costumes. Cultural experiences are just as memorable. Try a hands-on sushi making class, craft your own keepsake at a traditional chopstick carving workshop, or watch the incredible morning training session of wrestlers at a Sumo stable.
If you’re keen to see more of Japan beyond the city, a day trip to Mount Fuji 🗻 is always worthwhile. Think stunning scenery, peaceful lakes and those picture-perfect views of Japan’s most iconic peak.
After breakfast, we’ll check out of our Tokyo accommodation and begin a private coach transfer to Hakuba in the Japanese Alps. The journey takes approximately four hours, offering a comfortable and scenic drive through the countryside of Nagano Prefecture.
Upon arrival, we’ll check in to our accommodation and settle into our rooms. There will then be time to collect ski or snowboard rental gear and get fitted for the days ahead on the slopes.
The afternoon is free to explore Hakuba village, grab a bite to eat, visit local shops, or relax and enjoy the lively atmosphere of this famous alpine ski town. ❄️🏔️
With six full days in Hakuba, there’s plenty of time to make the most of the region’s legendary snow. Grab an All-Valley Lift Pass to access all the slopes across the Hakuba Valley, from beginner runs to more challenging trails for advanced skiers and snowboarders. For those seeking something extra, experience the thrill of night skiing, gliding down illuminated slopes under the crisp mountain sky.
If you decide to take a break from skiing, Hakuba offers a range of off-slope activities. Visit the famous Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park 🐒 to see wild macaques soaking in natural hot springs, or unwind in one of the area’s relaxing onsen. You can also explore the charming alpine village, browse local shops, or enjoy a hearty meal at a traditional Japanese izakaya.

With its friendly atmosphere, convenient facilities and great location, Hakuba Eagle Lodge is an excellent base for exploring the snowy landscapes of Hakuba. Standard check-in is from 3:00 pm, with check-out by 10:00 am.
Buyers should be aware that the initial deposit of $389 for this trip is a non-refundable deposit (besides as indicated below), any payments a customer has made after this is fully refundable upon request of cancellation and incurs no cancellation fee. In this event please contact the UQ Ski through our email or Facebook page as we can and have in the past, offered other solutions to club trippers.
In the event of a trip cancellation due to COVID-19 restrictions, all receipt holders will be given a full refund less a $100 fee (includes a $25 fee from NZ Ski and any further incurred non-refundable expenses such as merch).
COVID-19 restrictions include the trip’s own travel restrictions, Brisbane lockdown, Queenstown lockdown and the condition of quarantine that affects further travel plans. This does not include personal quarantine due to prior travel/restrictions, travel restriction outside of Brisbane/Queenstown, self-isolation due to Covid-illness or Covid testing; such personal circumstances that do not affect the viability of the trip are not covered by our Covid refund guarantee.
