On Thursday, 9th July, we’ll kick off our adventure with a 10:10am flight on Virgin Australia from Brisbane to Queenstown. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey as we head towards New Zealand’s stunning South Island.
Upon arrival, a private coach will whisk us straight to Pinewood Lodge, where we can settle in and start soaking up the alpine charm. Take a moment to unwind, explore the lodge’s cosy surroundings, and get ready for the exciting days ahead, from snow-covered slopes to breathtaking mountain views. The adventure begins the moment we touch down!

Today’s adventure takes us to the remarkable slopes of The Remarkables ski fields, an alpine gem celebrated for its dramatic peaks and expansive open bowls. This breathtaking landscape offers a natural playground for skiers and snowboarders of every level, from first-timers to seasoned experts seeking fresh challenges.
The Remarkables feature a wide variety of trails, with smooth beginner runs, thrilling advanced terrain, and excellent freestyle zones. Modern chairlifts make it easy to reach the higher slopes, where sweeping views of the surrounding mountain ranges and sparkling Lake Wakatipu create an unforgettable backdrop. Today, we journey to Coronet Peak, Queenstown’s closest ski field and one of New Zealand’s most celebrated alpine destinations. Renowned for its world-class facilities and exhilarating rollercoaster-style terrain, Coronet Peak offers something for everyone, from smooth beginner slopes to challenging runs that test even the most experienced skiers.
Our private transfer will take us directly to the mountain, where modern lifts ensure easy access to the best trails and panoramic viewpoints. For those keen to explore further, an optional group day tour to the breathtaking Milford Sound is available. Today, we return to the iconic Cardrona Alpine Resort, a favourite for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. Nestled along the scenic Crown Range, Cardrona offers wide, well-groomed slopes, challenging terrain parks, and stunning mountain views that make every run memorable.
A private transfer will take us directly to and from the mountain, ensuring a seamless, comfortable journey. Spend the day exploring the varied trails, perfecting your technique, or simply enjoying the crisp alpine air. Whether you’re seeking adventure on the slopes or a relaxing mountain escape, Cardrona promises another unforgettable day in New Zealand’s winter wonderland.
Today marks the grand finale of our snow adventure, and there’s no better place to finish than the breathtaking Remarkables. Feel the crisp mountain air on your face, carve your final turns down the slopes, and take in the sweeping alpine vistas that make this region so spectacular. Every moment on the snow is a memory in the making, from thrilling runs to quiet pauses admiring the scenery. In the afternoon, gather with friends at Apres to raise a toast, share stories from the week, and celebrate an unforgettable alpine adventure.
After an action-packed adventure shared with both new and familiar friends, it’s time to begin our journey home.
With our flight departure scheduled for 4:30pm, we’ll enjoy a leisurely morning to wake up, pack, and savour the final moments in Queenstown, making the most of our last chance to soak in the stunning surroundings.

Pinewood Lodge enjoys an unbeatable location, just a 7-minute stroll from the heart of Queenstown and a short distance from the scenic Queenstown Gondola. Its central yet tranquil setting makes it the perfect base to explore the town and surrounding mountains.
Guests can enjoy the lodge’s charming garden, complete with barbecue facilities, or take advantage of the nearby mountain biking trails located just 100 metres away. Ski storage and a guest laundry add convenience, while all rooms are comfortably heated and share access to a cosy lounge area. Best of all, we have our own dedicated apartment block exclusively for our group!

Buyers should be aware that the initial deposit of $389 for this trip is a non-refundable deposit (besides as indicated below), any payments a customer has made after this is fully refundable upon request of cancellation and incurs no cancellation fee. In this event please contact the UQ Ski through our email or Facebook page as we can and have in the past, offered other solutions to club trippers.
In the event of a trip cancellation due to COVID-19 restrictions, all receipt holders will be given a full refund less a $100 fee (includes a $25 fee from NZ Ski and any further incurred non-refundable expenses such as merch).
COVID-19 restrictions include the trip’s own travel restrictions, Brisbane lockdown, Queenstown lockdown and the condition of quarantine that affects further travel plans. This does not include personal quarantine due to prior travel/restrictions, travel restriction outside of Brisbane/Queenstown, self-isolation due to Covid-illness or Covid testing; such personal circumstances that do not affect the viability of the trip are not covered by our Covid refund guarantee.
