Ella Brimblecombe

As a keen skier, Ella joined UQ Ski as a new member for Queenstown ’22. After meeting so many amazing people through the events and having the best time in Queenstown, she joined the exec team. This year, she is hoping to master the art of snowboarding… although her current skill level is mediocre at best.

Ella looks forward to meeting as many of the new members at all of the events so if you see her, come and say hi!

Shelton Engelbrecht

Joining the team in 2024, Shelton has made his ambitions clear for this year; Bigger, Better & Blowing every year before it out of the water. 

After experiencing the UQ ski Culture and epic social opportunities of Queenstown 2023, he knew these were his people – Whether that be on board, bum or with beers in hand. 

His smile is outspoken & contagious, ready to welcome everyone to the UQ Ski family. 

So come on! Say G’day! This one is going to be an absolute ripper.

Daniel Willaton

As a new member to the ski society in 2022 and having an amazing time on the Queenstown trip, Daniel decided to join the executive team. After a great experience as an event executive he decided to step up as Treasurer for 2024 and is prepared to serve the society as best he can and is ready for another year of making new friends through the adventures UQ Ski has to offer.

Harry Cormack

Harry joined us on the 2022 ski trip and had so much fun he decided to join the team! As the loosest unit on the trip, Harry is keen to organise some of the best events on campus and of course our premier ski trip.

Feel free to say hi at any of our events throughout the year… and just a little tip — buy him a rumbo and he might just give you some insider info on event planning 👀

Nadia Robertson

Nadia skied for the first time on our last Queenstown trip and fell in love with it! She looks forward to growing the society in 2024 through marketing. 

A common place to find her is on the D-floor at most of our events. And as a beginner, feel free to approach her with any questions as she’s probably already asked dumber questions herself!

Tom Nicolson

As VP and trip planner, Tom is commited to making this 2023 trip the best ever, and provide as much value as possible to everyone. Join him for pub crawls, club nights, the early bus to the slopes the next morning and straight to the top of the mountain.

A keen skier, feel free to chat to Tom about anything to do with the upcoming trip or skiing in general (just don’t ask him about night skiing in the 2022 trip!)

Sam Parr

He is nature’s perpetual motion machine, fueled by adrenaline, and questionable decisions. His charm could melt glaciers, and his social obligations rival the complexity of the Tokyo subway map. He’s the type of guy who measures success in vertical metres conquered and G-forces defied.

With more adrenaline in his veins than most people coffee in their cups, he’s always bouncing off the walls, chasing the next thrill. Gravity? Never heard of her, too busy defying physics on snow, water, or anything with any sense of incline. But hey, life’s a mountain, and Sam’s got the downhill trajectory down pat. Somehow, this gravity-defying daredevil always lands on his feet, leaving a trail of shock and awe in his wake.

Charlotte Crook

Having skied only with family before and wanting to travel with like-minded mates, Charlotte joined UQ Ski as a new member for Queenstown ’23. After experiencing the welcoming and supportive culture that UQ Ski provides, she joined the exec team in 2024. This year she aims to get better at skiing, maybe go down a black diamond without faceplanting, and continue to make incredible memories with all the friends she hasn’t met yet.

Charlotte is always up for a chat and has plenty of experience if you are looking for someone to rant to, so don’t be shy, come say hi!

We loved Egor’s merch designs so much we let him stay another year! With us since 2019, he’s clearly here for both a long time and a good time. Egor’s ready to throw himself headfirst into the year, much like he sends it down slopes he’s not remotely ready for 🏂

After having an awesome time as a member of the Ski Society in 2021, William has jumped onboard as an exec! He’ll be working as both a welfare officer and as part of the marketing team. He is always up for a chat and will make sure that you get home safe and sound!

Joining the society for the 2023 Queenstown and 2024 Japan Trips, Kim is an avid skier who joined the 2024 exec team for its exuberant culture and events. Serving as part of the media/marketing team, expect Kim to be taking photos and generating memes during ski trips!

Megan Roxburgh

Megan joined UQ Ski on the Queenstown trip in 2023 and loved skiing for the first time! She was keen to join the team for 2024 and get involved with the marketing team to create lots of fun graphics, videos and more! She’s looking forward to all the exciting trips and upcoming events happening this year!

Amelia Vanderstoep

Joining the society in 2022 Mimi is a keen skier and lives for the slopes and après ski. Hoping to make the 2023 trip the most fun and exciting one yet, she is excited to get everyone on board. Come and ask her any questions about the trip or skiing in general!

Chloe Sullivan

As a spirited, inexperienced snowboarder, Chloe came to uni with the goal to put herself out there and learn new things. Leaving for UQ NZ trip in July 2023 not only did she see snow for the first time, and stand up on the snowboard but she met a tonne of new, likeminded people who were ready for a good time all the time. After goals were met and new friends were found, she joined the exec team at the end of 2023 with the hope of encouraging even more members to join the awesome club.

In 2024, Chloe alongside the rest of the events team will be planning some amazing parties, pub crawls and other fun fests! She looks forward to meeting even more friendly faces and is excited for what 2024 has to bring. Cast your eyes across the crowds at all of the events and you will most likely see her laughing too loudly or tearing it up on the dance floor!

As an avid skier, Luciano joined the society for Queenstown ’23, captivated by the culture of the society on the trip and the amazing events, he decided to join the exec team for 2024, aspiring to elevate the year with even more remarkable experiences and events.

Sienna Ford

As a spirited skier, Sienna was drawn to the club with the promises of fresh powder, friends, and a good time. Sienna joined in 2023 and experienced all she was promised on the Queenstown 2023 trip. After seeing what the society was all about, Sienna joined the exec team in 2023 as part of the events planning subcommittee.

In 2024, Sienna is planning to keep the good times going by planning some awesome events. She looks forward to meeting all of you, and if you have any event quarries or ideas, come have a talk with her at our next event, you will probably find her on the dance floor!

Samuel Reynolds

As an avid skiier and extremely amateur snowboarder, Sam is passionate about sharing the sport he loves with as many new members as possible. To this end, he organised UQ Ski’s first ever ski trips to Queenstown in 2021 and 2022. If you would like to chat about this great society or the snow, Sam is your man!
